Mais les Bleus souffrent en cette fin de saison, et Luka Modric venait couper les jambes des Français en transformant son penalty généreusement attribué dès la 5eme minute de jeu.
La suite ? Comme ça avait commencé. Incapables de mettre de la vitesse dans leur jeu, les Français se sont empalés sur la défense croate toute la partie. Résultat : une deuxième défaite en quatre matches et une élimination de la compétition. Prochain rendez-vous le 22 septembre face à l’Autriche.
