44 % des cas de tuberculeux au plan national proviennent de la région de Dakar plus précisément dans la banlieue entre Guédiawaye, Pikine Yeumbeul et Keur Massar, selon des statistiques délivrées par l’Association sénégalaise de lutte contre la tuberculose (Aslut), rapporte Walf et lu par Senegal7.
A Guédiawaye, il ressort qu’entre janvier et octobre 2022, près de 540 cas de tuberculeux ont été dénombrés d’après les informations fournies par la chargée de programme Tuberculose au niveau du District sanitaire de cette localité.
Pis, la majorité des personnes dépistées qui ont entre 17 et 50 ans ne suivent pas le traitement.
L’autre danger, c’est que certaines personnes malades vaquent à leurs occupations en empruntant les cars de transport en commun. Ce qui augmente les risques de propagation de la maladie qui peut tuer parfois en cas de non-traitement.
