Les anciens Abdou Diouf et Abdoulaye Wade se sont parlés au téléphone mardi 18 octobre 2022, à 12 heures GMT. Selon le communiqué du Parti démocratique sénégalais, après avoir évoqué de vieux souvenirs, les deux anciens Présidents ont prié pour eux et leurs familles, pour la paix au Sénégal, en Afrique, en France et dans le monde.
A la fin d’un entretien « amical rempli d’émotion », les deux « vieux amis », selon la même source, se sont séparés, se promettant, à l’avenir, de se rappeler plus souvent.
