C’était l’événement attendu de l’agenda people du week-end dernier. La «Sénégal Fashion Week» organisée à Las Vegas par le promoteur Mo Gates.
Pour certaines langues indiscrètes, notamment sur les réseaux sociaux, c’était un fiasco. Des chaises vides, une salle pas du tout remplie et les invités d’honneur semblaient être le public.
Pourtant, l’entrée était non seulement gratuite, mais pendant plusieurs jours, cet événement a fait la Une des tabloïds. Une montagne qui a accouché d’une souris ? C’est ce que semblent penser les détracteurs de cette cérémonie boudée par la Reine du Djolof Band, Viviane Chidid.
Quoi qu’il en soit, ce fut une première pour Mo Gates qui a beaucoup investi dans cette soirée. La Covid-19 est accusée, de même que la taille de la salle dont l’espace a été mal aménagé et le choix porté sur les invités de marque. Notamment les stylistes sur qui Mo Gates a jeté son dévolu, les coiffeuses et les artistes.
