Les bons résultats du Sénégal dans la lutte contre la Covid-19 se matérialisent dans l’indice de mesure et de suivi de la sévérité de la Covid-19 au niveau mondial, conçu par le Bureau de Prospective Economique du Sénégal (BPE). Au 04 avril 2021, l’indice pour le Sénégal, affiche une stabilité de la sévérité de la COVID-19. En effet, le score s’affiche à 0,99 le 04 avril 2021 (contre 0,99 le 28 mars). Le pays se classe au 2e rang africain (contre 5e au 28 mars) et au 7e rang mondial (contre 10e au 28 mars).
De façon globale en une semaine, la sévérité de la Covid-19 est stable dans le monde et en Europe. Elle est en hausse en Afrique et en Asie tandis qu’elle est en baisse en Amérique et en Océanie.
Au 04 avril 2021, Saint-Christophe-et-Niévès arrive en tête (avec un score de 1 sur un total possible de 1 dans un échantillon de 161 pays du monde), suivi de Taiwan (1), du Soudan du Sud (1), de la Thaïlande (1). Les scores les plus faibles sont détenus par Chypre (0,44), l’Afrique du Sud (0,45), la France (0,45) et l’Irlande (0,45). Le score moyen des pays de l’échantillon s’affiche à 0,82 le 04 avril 2021 contre 0,82 le 28 mars 2021, soit une sévérité globalement faible au niveau mondial.
Les nouveaux cas enregistrés par semaine continuent d’augmenter dans le monde. En effet, 4,1 millions nouveaux cas dans la semaine du lundi 29 au dimanche 04 mars (contre 3,9 millions nouveaux cas sur la période allant du 22 au dimanche 28 mars) ; soit une hausse de 5%. Concernant les décès, ils ont aussi augmenté d’environ 1%. En effet le monde enregistre 69 068 nouveaux décès entre le 29 et le 04 avril (contre 68 002 décès entre le 22 et le 28 mars).
L’analyse par continent montre que, pour l’Afrique, les scores sont compris entre 1 (Soudan du Sud) et 0,45 (Afrique du Sud), avec une moyenne de 0,86 le 04 avril contre 0,88 le 28 mars 2021. Le Cameroun, la Sierra Léone et la Guinée enregistrent les plus fortes progressions de scores dans l’indice en une semaine en Afrique (plus fortes baisses de la sévérité).
L’Europe affiche en moyenne un score de 0,77 le 04 avril contre 0,77 le 28 mars 2021. Le meilleur score dans ce continent est de 0,95 (Albanie) et le pays le moins performant affiche un score de 0,44 (Chypre).
En Amérique, les scores varient entre un minimum de 0,61 (Jamaïque) et un maximum de 1 (Saint-Christophe-et-Niévès), avec une moyenne de 0,82 le 04 avril 2021 contre 0,81 le 28 mars.
L’Asie enregistre en moyenne un score de 0,84 le 04 avril 2021 contre 0,85 le 28 mars. Le meilleur score (et donc la plus faible sévérité) est obtenu par Taïwan (1), suivi de la Thaïlande (1) et Brunei (0,99). La Corée du Sud (0,48) et la Mongolie (0,68) détiennent les plus faibles scores.
En Océanie, les scores varient entre un minimum de 0,49 (Polynésie française) et un maximum de 0,99 (Nouvelle Zélande), avec une moyenne de 0,85 le 04 avril 2021 contre 0,83 le 28 mars 2021. La Nouvelle Zélande affiche une hausse de son score tandis que Fidji, la Nouvelle Calédonie et la Polynésie Française affichent des scores stables.
